Student Success Statement
“What’s right isn’t always popular.
What’s popular isn’t always right.”
Howard Cosell
This statement means that if you’re doing
something right that doesn’t mean it has to be something you’re doing that’s popular.
For example singing with curse words in it isn’t right. There are popular
singers that don’t but yet they sing other things they aren’t supposed to for
people to hear. When something is mainstream is known and is right it’s pretty
good for someone. When someone does something that isn’t right then that’s when
you know when that person is choosing the wrong and not knowing what they are
getting themselves into. For example when someone says “you need your mouth
washed out with soap” pretty much means in other words that you need to see
what you’re doing wrong and fix it so you can choose the right thing to do in
your life.
