Student Success Statement

“We need the courage to start and continue what we should do, and the courage to stop what we shouldn’t do”

Richard L. Evans

Reflection: This statement  is true because you should be brave enough to say no to actions you don’t want to take, and continue to do interests you, and what you want to do, not what they force you to do.

Student Responsibilities
Part 3
What is important to you is that you, as you start to reach milestones in your ambitions, you appreciate your own achievements. It is a boost, of course, if others appreciate what you have done too, but appreciating yourself will strengthen your self-belief, and reinforce your determination to succeed.
Some of the key characteristics you will find in those who are successful are perseverance, prepared to research, plan and work hard, practice a lot even when things do not seem to be going well, and an ability to recover and learn from setbacks. At the outset of whatever it is you are trying to succeed in, a strong vision of your future, planning, and setting yourself achievable targets can all play an important role.
If you feel you do not naturally have all those characteristics, then do not despair. Each of them can be accomplished by your own application. You can use medication and visualization techniques to initiate your vision, and they can certainly be learnt both for that purpose and for each step you take to reach your goals. Setting goals and objectives can be a personal or business technique that can be learnt. You can develop inner strength to succeed if you apply yourself to doing just that; that will enable you to recover from setbacks more easily.

“The Importance of Good Sportsmanship”

Good sportsmanship is very necessary in class, home, in a team, and wherever you go. Sportsmanship makes a person a better person. You need to collaborate with your peers and with others. Sportsmanship consists of:

·      Fairness

·      Collaboration

·      Determination

·      Following the rules

Having good sportsmanship is important because it makes you interact better with others. Those who don’t have sportsmanship are looked at as rude and defiant people. Good sportsmanship makes you a good mane rally person. You have to accept your losses or victories. You have to be able to collaborate well with others and treat others with respect. Sportsmanship is a good factor that makes a person nicer and well looked at. It also determines your feelings and your morals. If you have good sportsmanship you set a good example to others and your close ones. Be a better person and show sportsmanship now!

“Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom”

-George Washington Carver

Reflection:

George Washington’s statement is very true. He makes total sense. Education is the key to freedom. If you’re educated you become an independent person and do things on your own. Freedom is golden and education is the key to open the golden door. Education is what makes a person who they are. Without education you are isolated from the world and not completely free. Without education your mind is imprisoned and confused, in other words your mind doesn’t think freely like it should.

A good example is the African American slaves of early colonial America. They allowed themselves to be controlled by others because they didn’t have any type of education. They couldn’t read or write or speak properly. If they had been educated the chances of them being free would increase because they would be cleverer and be able to escape. Education is the key to freedom and living well. It all depends on you and your education.

Student responsibilities

Part 1

Students have the right to seize the responsibility for their own destiny and should be out raged to do so. With every right come responsibilities

1. I have the responsibility to come to every class prepared to listen, to participate, and to learn.

2. I have the responsibility to read the text carefully, noting important ideas and rephrasing concepts in my own words.

3. I have the responsibility to work example in the textbook and those given in class.

4. I have the responsibility to consult other students, the teacher, an assistant, and other resources whenever I need the extra help.

5. I have the responsibility to understand that the teacher is not primarily responsible for making me understand, but that it is my job to study and to learn.

6. I have the responsibility of keeping an open mind and trying to comprehend what the teacher is trying to get across.

Student Responsibilities

Part 2

7. I have the responsibility to do every bit of assigned homework with proper attention and thought.
8. I have responsibility to view my teacher as a partner in my education.

9. I have the responsibility to understand that I am not the only student in my class, and that if I fall behind the class, not all of my catching up is appropriate for the classroom setting.

10. I have the responsibility to act as a competent adult.

11. I have the responsibility of trying to integrate the concepts being taught into other courses and other areas of my life.

12. I have the responsibility to be polite and open to my teacher and classmates.

13. I have the responsibility to accept that my work will be evaluated in terms of what skills any student in the course is expected to master.

Choose the right!!!

Student Success Statement

“My basic principle is that you don’t make decisions because they are easy; you don’t make them because they are cheap; you don’t make them because they’re popular; you make them because they’re right.

Theodore Hesburgh

Reflection:

This success statement is sends a really positive message. Theodore Hesburgh is saying that you have to make good decisions that are going to benefit you. You don’t make decisions because they are easy but you make them because they’re cheap. You also don’t make decisions because they’re popular but because they’re right. Choosing the right and making good decisions is the correct thing to do. If you make good decisions then you will benefit from them and good things will come to your life. A decision can change your life completely so try to make a good one so it can affect your life positively.

“Decisions determine Destiny”

-Thomas S. Monson

Reflection:

Thomas S. Monson’s statement is really straight to the point. He is basically saying that the decisions you make in life determine your destiny. If you make a bad decision then bad consequences will come your way in the future. Once you choose the wrong you will never get away from it and it will definitely affect your destiny. Many decisions you make will affect you in the future. If you make good choices than there will be good consequences and your destiny will be good. Making decisions all depends on yourself and it’s up to you to choose the wrong or choose the right. Your destiny is in your hands and its up too you to make it a good one or bad. Your decisions mean a lot.

Successful Students Part 2

4. Successful students learn that a student and a teacher make a team. Most teachers want exactly what you want: they would like for you to learn the material in their respective classes and earn a good grade.
Successful students reflect well on the efforts of any teacher; if you have learned your material, the instructor takes some justifiable pride in teaching. Join forces with your instructor, they are not an enemy, you share the same interests, the same goals – in short, and you’re teammates. Get to know your professor. You’re the most valuable players on the same team. Your jobs are to work together for mutual success. Neither wishes to chalk up losing season. Be a team player!

5. Successful students don’t sit in the back. Successful students minimize classroom distractions that interfere with learning. Students want the best sear available for their entertainment dollars, but willingly seek the worst seat for their educational dollars.

Students who shit in the back cannot possibly be their teacher’s teammate (see no.4).

Student success

Statement

Great beauty, great strength, and great riches, are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all. “

-Benjamin Franklin

Reflection:

I believe this statement is really true. Benjamin franklin is trying to say that even if you have beauty, strength, or riches, the heart will always exceed all. The heart is the most important because the three factors above will only get you to a certain point in life. It doesn’t matter if you have beauty, strength, and riches, what matters are what are inside and your feelings. The heart is what matters the most, not all people have beauty, strength, or riches but if they have a nice heart they will always succeed and follow the correct path that is ahead of them. The heart is always going to exceed all factors.

Characteristics of a successful

Student

Many students do not know what it takes to be successful in the educational environment. They understand good and bad grades in a general way, and they sense that they should attend classes, but what is where their knowledge begins and ends.

Most instructors know what a good student is [and is not. For one thing, a good student is not necessarily the most intelligent individual in the class.

The following is a list of some characteristics of good students. This list is a description of what a hard-working student does and what a teacher likes to see. By learning these characteristics, you may better understand the day-to-day and class-to-class behavior of successful students. The idea is to provide you with guidelines you can follow which will help you get down to the business of becoming a serious, successful student.

1.   Successful students attend classes regularly. They are on time. They listen and train themselves to pay attention. If they miss a session, they feel obligated to let the instructor know why before the class begins, if possible as their excuses are legitimate and reasonable. They make sure they get all the missed assignments (by contacting the instructor or another student), and understanding specifically what was covered in class. Successful students take responsibility for themselves and their actions

CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!

Student success statement

“Right is right, even if everyone is against it. Wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it “
-William Penn

Reflection:

This success statement is very true. Even if everyone is against the right, the right is always going to be the correct thing to do. The wrong will always be the wrong even if everyone is for it nothing of it is going to change. Even if everyone is against the right you should always do the right because what you do reflects on you. Don’t let no one influence you in doing the wrong just because they’re for it , you should always do the right no matter what . This statement makes total sense and everything about it is true.

Socrates

Reflection:

What Socrates is saying is really true. Living right is more than just living. Living right brings good and positive things to you. Just living isn’t enough, you need to live right in order to be successful and prosperous. Living right is what matters because if you just live nothing good comes your way. Socrates is really inspirational and sends a really positive message through this statement.

“You are accountable for your choices”

Thomas S. Monson

Reflection:

This statement makes total sense. Everyone is accountable for any choices or decisions you make. It’s up to you for your choices and it affects you. No one is accountable for your choices but yourself. You have to take responsibility for your choices and what you do. You either do bad or good choices up and your always held accountable for them. This is a great statement.

Statement

Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly”

Otto Graham Jr.

Reflection:

This statement has a lot of meaning. It’s up to you to do what’s right or wrong. Your decisions are what reflect from you. If you choose the  wrong you are labeled as a bad person and if you do the right your labeled as good and caring person. It all depends on you if you want to cheat yourself on doing the wrong or choose the right and follow the correct path. This statement clearly says that it’s up to you to act in a wrong way or in a right way. Choosing the right makes you a better person inside and out. It also reflects on you as a person and morals. Everyone should choose the right and be a better person.

Reflection:

I think this story was very heart warming. The little boy Jimmy, chose the right by telling the truth and being honest. He could have easily lied but instead he told the truth and chose the right.  If he would have lied the guilt would have been stuck with him forever and would have made him uncomfortable. Jimmy was very honest and it made him better as a person. He also set a good example to his classmates and teacher. No matter how young or old you are choosing the right is always the very best decision someone can make.

Student success statement

“Doing what is right, fair, and honorable is more important than winning or losing “

Chick Moorman

Reflection:

I think this statement is very true. I think this statement is true because doing the right is more important than winning or losing. If you do the right you will accomplish more things. It’s not always about winning or losing, it’s about doing the right. If you think it’s about winning or losing then you are selfish and only care about yourself, but if you do the right you are considerable of others and not selfish. This statement is very true and has a powerful meaning.

keys to successful living part 4

Keys in successful living

Part 4

(anon)

What is personality? The word “Personality” comes from the root persona, which means “mask”. Our personality is a mask that we wear. We don’t have to wear a mask when we are by ourselves; we wear a mask to express ourselves to others. Our personality is a character, and that character is composed of certain habits. Each of us has numerous habits; so when we want to understand our personality, we should understand our habit patterns. A habit pattern is conscious thought or action that one repeats again and again. This creates a groove in the unconscious mind and forms an unconscious habit. Unconscious habits are stronger than conscious habits. All Habit patterns are self-created. When we sit down and try to understand which of out habits control our life, we see that there are many deep-rooted habits within us.
Choose habits that will mold your personality into a super successful student and person.
